Azam Khan body, the pop guru in Bangladesh, has been kept on the premises of Shaheed Minar since on 9:45am Monday for the general people to pay tribute for him.
Khan’s body, wrapped by the national flag, was taken to the premises by an ambulance.
Thousand of his fans were waiting on Shaheed Minar area since morning to pay homage to the man, who valiantly fought for the country in the 1971 Liberation War and later inspired millions with his unique music style.
Azam Khan's body will be taken to his Kamalapur residence from the Shaheed Minar. He will be buried at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard after his "namaz-e-janaza" at "Baitul Mokarram National Mosque".
Last year on June, the 61 year old pop legend diagnosed with oral cancer and was treated in Singapore, where he received chemotherapy. On 22th May, he was admitted to Square Hospital in the capital of Dhaka. With his health condition remaining unchanged. At last first June, The pop star Azam khan was moved to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH). At last Sunday morning he breathed his last at Dhaka CMH.
